I was born and raised in southwest Louisiana, a place as beautiful as it is wild. My parents are famous Cajun musicians whose music repeatedly took them on tours around the world. My father makes some of the finest accordions you'll ever see, which are referred to as the "rolls-royce" of Cajun accordions. My mother basically wrote the Cajun bible and has achieved huge success with her music, art, and writing about SWLA. Every person in my family has followed their passions and, in return, received great support and notoriety by doing so. I have always been inspired by the landscapes and people of this area. There is an intensity to the Cajun people and way of life that I know all too well and cherish greatly. I make it a goal of mine to try to capture that spontaneity and untamed spirit of this place.
I have worked as a photographer for many years, shooting everything from weddings to festivals to bands to children and much more. However, the moments I live to capture are those candid moments that most others don't even notice. I love finding the magic in what others often find mundane and attempting to capture those few fleeting seconds before they disappear forever. I work with both digital and film. I have worked as an assistant to well-known New Orleans photographer, Rick Olivier, as well as working in many other photo studios around Louisiana, where i learned all about editing/post processing. I studied analog photography as a teenager and then again as an adult from my mother, who is an incredible photographer. My work has been featured in many well-known publications such as Rolling Stone magazine and Marie Claire. I studied visual arts at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and then Louisiana State University at Eunice for photography. I've taught art in public schools through Acadiana Center for the Arts and have also given private lessons. I've exhibited my work in many great cities, from Austin to Paris to New Orleans. My work was featured in PBS's "Craft in America,' as well as the award-winning documentary out of California, "Rodents of Unusual Size."
I've found that photography and visual arts as a whole allow me to tell a piece of my story that may be different from the stories of my acclaimed siblings. I hope you enjoy my work featured on this website. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. My contact info is included at the bottom of each page on this site.
